Northcote scored a perfect 10 for liveability in a landmark study by Pricewaterhouse Cooper.

The Future Victoria report 2021, gave Northcote top marks for the best place to live, work and play – particularly in light of the daily changes to residents’ habits brought about by the pandemic.

The liveability research looked at a range of factors including access to health, schools, parks, hospitality, and shops.

It also measured other key factors such as street safety and walkability, with a special emphasis on what can be accessed within a 15 minute walk from home.

Just a 2-minute walk to Dennis train station.

From there you are 10 minutes to Parliament station or 15 minutes to Macleod station for La Trobe University bus connections.

8.5 km by bike to the cbd

The dedicated City Trail bike path puts you around 8.5km, or just over 20 minutes on the bike, from the CBD. It’s even less (6.7km) if you take a more direct route, but we reckon the bike path is more scenic, and there are some great spots to grab a coffee along the way.

In the warmer months, you could head home along the Main Yarra Trail with a detour via one of Abbotsford’s great boutique breweries. Cheers!
